25 of april when war started. People in the soldiers  had to die to protect us. Families and friends worry. Red flowers are called poppies.
This is my cinquain poem.

April 25

War, battling, fighting

Will never forget you

Remembrance
Anzac day red poppies on white crosses commemorating Australian ...

My lest we forget art

Lest we forget

  1. Granddad said there are two types of days - write down what they are.

Those who you want to remember and those you want to forget.

  1. What did Mum do on the boys first day of school?

Polished his shoes until he could see his face on them.

  1. What did the boys coach say about their soccer team?

That they were like a family  and is important to look after each other on the field.

  1.  How do YOU think the soldiers looked after each other when they were at war?

By helping if they were injured and got each other’s back like if someone is out of bullets, his/her friend will come and help out.

5. What did Mum burn in the kitchen to make the whole house smell like smoke?

It was the roast.

6. Who made the ANZAC biscuits for the soldiers?

Their families.

7. How did the families find out if their sons, brothers or dads had  been killed at war?

A telegram.

My division poster

What I learnt from math in my home learning is my division and to take your time when you're trying to figure out a problem. Don’t care if you didn’t  finish first or last at least you tried your best to finish and also never give up.

This is my division question:
30/2=

This is how I solved it:
15 + 15 = 30

Today I also learnt that you can write the division sign in 3 ways. This is what it  looks like / - and the normal one.

Do you know how to solve this division problem  another
way.

Dawn parade

1.  What date do we celebrate Anzac day?
On the 25 of April .

2. “There metals glinted under the streetlights. What does ‘glinted’ mean?

It means shining

3. ‘Leo gazed at the long list of names…”what does the word ‘gazed’ mean?
It means stared

4. Why do we wear poppies on Anzac day?
Poppies grew in the field where soldiers died. Then this man called McCrae who was also a soldier who wrote a poem about poppies so it’s a reminder of all the people who died in the war.

5. Why was the parade called the ‘Dawn parade?’

Soldiers  wanted to remember their friends who had died so they decided to meet at dawn because it is peaceful and quiet.
